Bermuda Team Finishes Fourth In Ontario

A five-member Bermuda mountain bike team placed fourth in its division at the 2026 24 Hours of Summer Solstice in Ontario, Canada.

Competing under the team name Chafing the Dream, James Holloway, Hans Hirschi, Craig Ferguson, Ian Port and Curtis Mitchell completed 26 laps in 24 hours, 43 minutes and 36 seconds at Albion Hills Conservation Park in Caledon.

The team competed in the Five Person Age Group 200-249 division, which featured 23 teams. The official results listed Chafing the Dream fourth in the category.

The 24 Hours of Summer Solstice was held from June 27 to 28 and is organized by Chico Racing, which describes the event as North America’s largest 24-hour mountain bike festival.

Riders compete solo or in relay teams over the 24-hour period, with the Albion Hills course providing a test of endurance, pacing and bike handling.
