Ceci Bernard Lambert Wins Mary Terceira Award
The Hospitals Auxiliary of Bermuda [HAB] announced that Ceci Bernard Lambert has been awarded the Mary Terceira Award.
A spokesperson said, “Presented annually to an exemplary HAB volunteer, the award honours the memory of Mary Terceira, a former HAB president who passed away in 1990. Recipients of the award must have made contributions that embody the organisation’s motto: giving unstintingly from the heart.”

HAB President Glen Gibbons said in a presentation ceremony on Thursday 25 June: “It is never an easy task for the President to select just one volunteer for this award, as so many of you generously give your time and energy.”
The spokesperson said, “Ms Lambert, a 12-year HAB veteran, joined the organisation in July 2014. She has worked at the Barn and the HAB’s Overseas Family Help Services. In 2023 she took on the role of Gift Shop chairperson. In her role, Ceci leads a dedicated team of volunteers, managing the behind-the-scenes operations of the Gift Shop. Together, they are responsible for sourcing and ordering merchandise both locally and overseas, coordinating deliveries, pricing products and creating attractive displays. Their responsibilities also include conducting year-end inventory, monitoring stock levels, restocking twice weekly, and reconciling sales.”
Mr Gibbons said: “This is no small undertaking. The Gift Shop is entirely volunteer run under Ceci’s leadership, and her commitment is unwavering. She takes great pride in sourcing unique and appealing gifts, which is reflected in the positive feedback from regular customers who appreciate the shop’s distinctive offerings and reasonable prices.
“With her extensive background in retail, Ceci has elevated the shop to new heights—culminating in the Gift Shop receiving the Best of Bermuda Award in June 2026 in the category of Great Gifts. Congratulations on this fantastic achievement!
“Ceci approaches her role with professionalism and always gives 100%. As a wife, mother, grandmother, mentor to Candy Stripers, and committed volunteer, she exemplifies the spirit of this award.”
