Cyril Whitter Earns Jiu-Jitsu Purple Belt
Aries Sports Centre instructor Cyril Whitter III has been promoted to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Purple Belt.
It was awarded by Professor Roberto Carneiro of BDA BJJ.
Whitter began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2018 before returning to the mats after the COVID-19 pandemic.
He joined BDA BJJ in 2021 and has since trained under Carneiro, earning his Blue Belt before being promoted to Purple Belt.
“It is a tremendous honour to receive my Purple Belt from Professor Roberto Carneiro.
“His technical knowledge, high standards, and commitment to developing his students have played a significant role in my growth both on and off the mats.
“I am grateful for his mentorship and for the support of my team-mates throughout this journey.”
In addition to his own training, Whitter is the lead Jiu-Jitsu instructor at Aries Sports Centre, where he teaches students of all ages.
His promotion follows years of training and reflects his continued commitment to developing the martial arts programmes offered at the centre.
