Kaden Hopkins Places Second After Crash
Kaden Hopkins finished second in stage eight of the Tour Cycliste International de la Guadeloupe despite crashing and injuring his collarbone during the individual time-trial yesterday [August 7].
Hopkins was on course for his second stage victory when he crashed on a fast downhill corner.
He got back on his feet, switched to a spare bike from the team car and continued the race, finishing just two seconds behind Frenchman Alex Doltaire.
Hopkins, who represents Belgian team Atom6-Cycleur de Luxe-Auto Stroo, was taken by ambulance to hospital after the stage and will return to Spain for surgery.
