Netball: Bermuda Defeat Dominican Republic
Bermuda recorded a 36-35 victory over the Dominican Republic in the women’s netball competition at the Central American and Caribbean Games.
The Group A match was held at the Ciudad Juan Bosch Sports Complex, with the teams level at 11-11 after the opening quarter.
Bermuda outscored the Dominican Republic 8-7 in the second quarter and 11-7 in the third to establish a 30-25 advantage. The Dominican Republic responded with a 10-6 fourth quarter, but Bermuda held on to secure the one-point victory.
JahTuere Trott led Bermuda’s scoring with 18 goals from 23 attempts, while Jahkenya Trott converted 13 of her 21 attempts. Inshan-nae Smith scored three goals, with Selah Tuzo and Jasmyn Renfroe adding one each.
