Female Visitor Injured In Cycle Collision
Police are investigating a two-vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton involving a livery cycle and a car that left a female visitor injured and requiring hospital treatment.
A police spokesperson said, “Police are currently on scene at a two vehicle collision on Middle Road near the junction with Industrial Park Road in Southampton, involving a car and a livery cycle.
“Initial information suggests the livery cycle, operated by a female visitor, was travelling west along Middle Road when the rider attempted to avoid a truck at the Industrial Park Road junction. The cycle subsequently crossed into the path of an oncoming car, resulting in a collision.
“The female motorcyclist was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital [KEMH] for treatment of her injuries. The extent of her injuries is currently unknown.
“The male driver of the car was not believed to have been injured.
“Motorists are advised to use caution as police divert traffic around the scene.”
