Nahki Wells And Luton Set To Play Chelsea
Bermudian striker Nahki Wells and his Luton Town teammates are set to face Premier League side Chelsea in the second round of the Carabao Cup at Stamford Bridge today [Aug 27] in England.
The match will kick off at 7.30pm UK time [3.30pm Bermuda time] and will mark the first League Cup meeting between the two clubs.
Chelsea are entering the competition in the second round, while League One side Luton advanced after recording a 3-0 victory away to Gillingham earlier this month.
Wells opened the scoring against Gillingham in the 43rd minute, controlling a through ball from Jayden Luker before directing a right-footed effort into the bottom corner.
Wells has continued to contribute during the opening weeks of the season. He provided an assist in Luton’s 4-3 League One victory away to Reading before scoring from the penalty spot in their 2-2 draw against Notts County.
The winner of tonight’s event will host Leeds United in the third round after the draw was completed on Wednesday.
