Pembroke Parish Council Awards Scholarships
The Pembroke Parish Council has awarded scholarships totaling $18,000 to Amirah Ascento, Daetona Simons and Adio DeShield Tankard.
A spokesperson said, “The Pembroke Parish Council recently celebrated and awarded three students scholarships towards their tertiary education. The winners included Amirah Ascento, Daetona Simons and Adio DeShield Tankard.
“Amirah Ascento begins her studies at Manchester Metropolitan University pursing a law degree and was awarded $8,000.00. Daetona Simons, a sophomore at Clark Atlanta University, is studying Business Administration and received $5,000.00. Adio DeShield Tankard, a junior studying Liberal Arts and Business at Thomas College in Maine was awarded $5,000.00.
“These winning candidates are intelligent, articulate and focused young people who expressed that they are interested in improving and imparting their skills and knowledge with the community.
“The Council Chair, Betty-Ann Caesar, stated that the Council is immensely proud of these young people who demonstrate passion and dedication to their studies, and ultimately their career goals for the future. The Pembroke Parish Council is delighted to invest in our young people, and we wish them much success as they continue their studies in their respective career paths.
