Photos: Volleyball Teams At ECVA Tournament

Bermuda’s national volleyball teams produced a strong showing at the 2026 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association [ECVA] Championships in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, with the women capturing the gold medal after an unbeaten campaign and the men securing fourth place.

Led by head coach Gary LeBlanc and assistant coach Kayla Grant, the women opened their title-winning run with a victory over defending champions St Lucia. They followed with straight-set wins over Dominica and Anguilla before defeating hosts British Virgin Islands in the semifinal.

Bermuda completed their superb campaign with a 3-1 victory over Antigua and Barbuda in the gold medal match, winning 25-23, 27-25, 21-25 and 25-20 to claim the championship title in the women’s division.

The men’s team, coached by Mike Smith with Robert Saraiva serving as assistant coach, recovered from an opening four-set defeat against Dominica to record consecutive victories over the British Virgin Islands and Anguilla.

Their results earned them a place in the semifinals, where they were defeated by St Vincent and the Grenadines before finishing fourth overall after advancing to the bronze medal match.
