Young Artists Featured In New Exhibition

A new pop-up exhibition at Paradise Mobile is showcasing the creativity of Bermuda’s next generation of artists through sculptures created during Masterworks Museum’s summer intensive programme.

A spokesperson said, “Paradise Mobile, in collaboration with Masterworks Museum, is thrilled to announce a special pop-up exhibition celebrating Bermuda’s next generation of artists.

“Running until 29 August, the upstairs space at Paradise Mobile’s 24 Reid Street store has been transformed into a vibrant gallery showcasing the final works from the Sculpture in Practice: A Summer Intensive for Teens programme. The exhibition is entirely free and open to the public.

“Following its popular local artist showcase in May for Heritage Month, Paradise Mobile is proud to extend its support for local creatives by hosting these contemporary sculptures in-store. Over a two-week intensive, the students – aged 13-19 – experimented with materials ranging from clay and plaster to wire and resin, pushing beyond traditional two-dimensional art to bring their unique imaginations to life.”

Supporting programmes like Sculpture in Practice allows us to nurture local talent, celebrate Bermudian creativity and give these extraordinary young artists a central platform to show the island what they can do.”

A spokesperson added, “The Sculpture in Practice programme was developed by sculptor and course leader Katarina Hoskins in partnership with Masterworks Museum, with Paradise Mobile serving as a proud sponsor of the initiative.”

‘This exhibition celebrates the willingness of these young artists to take creative risks, learn new skills, and express themselves through sculpture,’ said Katarina Hoskins, Course Leader and Sculptor. ‘We are thrilled to partner with Paradise Mobile to give these students a central, public space to display their hard work. It offers visitors a wonderful opportunity to experience the diverse ideas and personal voices developed over the course of the intensive.’

A spokesperson added, “Locals and visitors are encouraged to head upstairs at the Paradise Mobile store at 24 Reid Street to view the artwork before the exhibition closes on August 29th.
