Constable Victor Fishington Retires After 34 Years
Commissioner of Police Darrin Simons and his Senior Leadership Team recognised the retirement of Constable Victor Fishington, after 34 years’ service.
A police spokesperson said, “Constable Fishington joined the Bermuda Police Service after being inspired by his cousin Minton Gilbert, a Police Cadet at that time, who later attained the rank of Sergeant.
“With family members in attendance at Friday’s gathering, colleagues in the room spoke of Constable Fishington being the consummate professional, always carrying out his duties with a positive attitude.
“He worked in various departments including Western Patrol, Parish Constables, Beach Squad, Traffic and Dispatch.
“Convinced to take a driver training course fairly early on in his policing career, Constable Fishington found his niche and through more training, went on to became a skilled instructor for police drivers, as well as police motorcyclists.
“In later years he willingly shared his expertise, mentioning younger officers in the Roads Policing Unit.
“Commissioner Simons noted that despite his rank, Constable Fishington had shown great leadership within the organisation. A proud father, Constable Fishington is looking forward to enjoying some well-deserved time off.
“Thank you for your service Constable Fishington! We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.”
