Team Hayward Donates 300 Shoe Vouchers
Team Hayward donated 300 $75 shoe vouchers to assist local families with the cost of preparing their children for the new school year.
A spokesperson said, “The vouchers were distributed as part of Team Hayward’s Back-to-School Community Event, held on Sunday, 30 August at CedarBridge Academy. The initiative was designed to provide practical assistance to families at a time when the combined cost of uniforms, shoes, supplies and other school necessities can place additional pressure on household budgets.”
“Every child deserves to begin the school year feeling prepared, confident and ready to learn,” Minister Jason Hayward said. “We recognise that back-to-school expenses can be challenging for many families, so these vouchers were intended to provide practical support where it was needed.”
A spokesperson added, “Each voucher has a value of $75 and can be used towards the purchase of school shoes. WJ Boyle and Sons also generously provided an additional 10 per cent discount, helping families stretch the value of the vouchers even further. Hayward expressed his appreciation to Boyles for supporting the initiative and helping to make the programme possible.
“Education is one of the most important investments we can make in our young people and in Bermuda’s future. Supporting students also means supporting the parents and guardians working hard to provide for them,” he added.
“Team Hayward extends their best wishes to all students, educators and families as they begin the new academic year.”
