Bermuda Centre for Creative Learning students were gifted books inspired by the late Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, giving them the opportunity to choose books of their own and nurture a love of reading.
A spokesperson said, “BCCL was the very grateful recipient of a gift inspired by the late Dolly Parton and her Imagination library. The donor’s own love of books and learning felt a real connection to the the late singers philanthropy after she passed away last month and wanted to continue the idea here in Bermuda. BCCL students with able to go to The Bermuda Bookstore and choose 2 books of their own to take home and enjoy reading.
“The children were so grateful and at the end of the day as children waited to be picked up you could see groups on them sitting together reading and comparing the books they’ve chosen. For children that may find reading difficult, this was a wonderful gift which allowed them to pick books of their choice and interest, and open their imaginations.”
