Sun Life Private Wealth Appoint Georgina Howes
Sun Life Private Wealth has announced three senior appointments, including Georgina Howes as CEO and Country Manager for Bermuda, as it strengthens its leadership across key global wealth hubs.
A spokesperson said, “Sun Life Private Wealth today announced three senior appointments to strengthen product leadership and market execution across Singapore and Bermuda.”
- Liem Phan is appointed Chief Product Officer, based in Singapore
- Alvin Soh is named CEO, Sun Life Private Wealth Singapore
- Georgina Howes joins as CEO & Country Manager, Sun Life Private Wealth Bermuda
“These appointments mark an important step in building the leadership team for Sun Life Private Wealth. Liem, Georgina and Alvin bring strong market experience, technical depth and proven leadership as we continue to serve the increasingly complex needs of high net worth families across global wealth hubs,” said Sujoy Ghosh, CEO, Sun Life Private Wealth.
A spokesperson added, “As Chief Product Officer, Liem will shape the product strategy for Sun Life Private Wealth, from product design, pricing, lifecycle management to product governance and innovation.
“Liem is a senior Life & Health reinsurance executive with more than 20 years of international leadership experience across Asia and Europe. Before joining Sun Life, he led Swiss Re’s Southeast Asia and India business, delivering new business growth and establishing the region as a key growth engine. Liem joined Swiss Re in 2005 and held a range of senior leadership roles in Singapore and Switzerland. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.
“As Chief Executive Officer of Sun Life Private Wealth Singapore, Alvin will lead the Singapore business, with responsibility for its growth, performance and long-term development. He will focus on deepening relationships with distribution partners and strengthening connectivity across Product, Underwriting, Operations, Finance, Compliance and Risk to deliver strong and consistent experience for distribution partners and Clients.
“Alvin has more than 16 years of leadership experience across Southeast Asia. He joins from FWD Singapore, where he was Chief Distribution & Marketing Officer, responsible for distribution, product and marketing across its life and general insurance businesses. Alvin is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst.
“As CEO & Country Manager, Sun Life Private Wealth Bermuda, Georgina will drive sustainable performance of the Bermuda business and strengthen Bermuda’s role as a key wealth hub within Sun Life Private Wealth’s integrated platform.
“Georgina brings more than 25 years of insurance experience, with deep expertise in life and health underwriting, operations, and high net worth insurance across multiple jurisdictions and complex organizations. Prior to joining Sun Life, she was Head of Bermuda at Transamerica Life [Bermuda] Ltd., where she established and scaled its high net worth operations, supporting sustainable underwriting growth and operational excellence.
