Bermudian goalkeeper Nathan Trott made crucial stoppage-time saves as Cardiff City recovered from 4-1 down to beat Burnley 5-4 in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday [November 7].

The Bluebirds completed the comeback at Cardiff City Stadium, with Alex Robertson scoring the winner in the fourth minute of added time.

Burnley had established a 4-1 lead through goals from Andreas Hountondji, Marcus Edwards and Largie Ramazani, followed by a Robertson own goal. Ollie Tanner scored Cardiff’s first-half goal.

Substitute Yousef Salech helped turn the match around, scoring twice either side of a Jack Moylan penalty to bring Cardiff level at 4-4.

Trott then helped keep the scores level early in stoppage time, denying Aaron Ramsey as Burnley threatened to regain the lead.

Robertson put Cardiff ahead with a curling strike into the top right-hand corner, making amends for his earlier own goal.

Trott was called upon again in the seventh minute of added time, saving a shot from Ramazani as Cardiff held on to secure all three points.
