Photos: PGA Grand Slam Day #2
Causing Bermuda’s octopus population to strike out twice in a row, South African Ernie Els won the 2010 PGA Grand Slam of Golf today [Oct 20], against the prediction of a Martin Kaymer win from Squirt the Octopus.
Mr. Els won his second Grand Slam, picking up $600,000 prize money. The elite event was held at the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, and the 36-hole championships boasts the most difficult qualification requirement in the game – a major championship. He is pictured below with his wife and daughter:
The final scores were Ernie Els – 5, David Toms -4, Martin Kaymer +3,and Graeme McDowell +3. The winner earned $600,000, with $300,000 to the second place finisher, $250,000 for the 3rd place finisher and $200,000 to the 4th place finisher

Glad to see people on that property. My cousin “Jump Seat Paul” used to own and run that whole area. Cows, ducks, chickens crops. And those days of walking in two feet of water for hundreds of yards collecting ‘conchs’……..ah the good ole days……………….
Today, can’t even afford a taxi or green fees…………………………
Hey Terry,
Did the UBP confiscate the property from “Jump Seat Paul” to build the Port Royal Golf Course? If not, how much did the family sell the property? Who made money, the owners or politicians/realters of the day? You have a lot to say, keep us informed. Oh I wish for the good ole days. Ha ha ha. don’t talk in riddles.
