Two hockey games took place this afternoon [Mar.12], one in the Women’s B and the other in the Men’s Division. In the women’s division, the Canaries took a 1 – 0 lead in the 24th minute when Maria Burley scored a Field Goal, however in the 37th minute Maya Palacio equalized for the Longtail Canaries when she scored Field Goal. In the 45th minute Palacio scored her second Field Goal of the game that proved to be the winner as the Longtail Canaries defeated the Canaries 2 – 1.

In the Men’s Division the Chameleons beat the Polecats, and champagne bottles were popped at the National Sports Center following the Chameleons 4 – 2 win over the Polecats. The Chameleons took the lead in the 4th minute when Tim Goodyer scored a Field Goal, Richard Cox doubled the Chameleons lead seven minutes later when he scored Field Goal.

In the 16th minute the Polecats pulled a goal back when Hannes Robbertze scored a Field Goal, but when Goodyer scored his second Field Goal of the game he restored the Chameleons two goal lead. Donnie Simmons pulled a goal back for the Polecats in the 24th minute when he converted from a Penalty Corner, however Paul Deans scored a Penalty Corner goal for the Chameleons who hung on to win the game and the Men’s Division.
