Slideshow: Riddell’s Bay Post-Fire Smoke

Although 20 firefighters took approximately five hours and more than 3,000 gallons of water to extinguish the brush fire at the Riddell’s Bay Golf Club, the smouldering remains of the blaze continued to pour out smoke this morning [Mar.9].

The Bermuda Fire Service responded at around 8pm last night, and worked till past midnight to control the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious in nature. This morning the scorched pile of greenery on the the golf course was still sending clouds of smoke over parts of Warwick.

    Surely 30,000 gallons. 3,000 gallons over 5 hours….600 gallons an hour..a garden hose could do that.
