Spalding Denies Killing Shaki Crockwell

36-year-old Derek Spalding pleaded not guilty to murder and using a firearm in Supreme Court yesterday [Sept.1]. Mr Spaulding was charged last month with the 2007 murder of Shaki Crockwell.

25-year-old footballer Shaki Crockwell, a national level football player and captain of the Boulevard Blazers, was found dead on Friday, 24th August 2007. His had been shot in the neck, and his body was found on the Railway Trail in Devonshire.

Mr Spalding was remanded in custody and will stand trial early next year.
