Police: Positive Interaction With Students

Yesterday afternoon [Sept.7], uniformed police officers – including officers from the Community Action Teams – visited the Island’s two public high schools as well as the Washington Street bus terminal in the City of Hamilton to “promote positive interactions between officers and students.”

A police spokesperson said, “This example of proactive community policing is intended to create positive relationships with the students as they return to school this week that will last throughout the school year and as a result, reduce the likelihood of any incidents occurring at either high school or the main bus terminal.”

“Officers also plan to continue monitoring the Washington Street bus terminal area on a regular basis as students congregating at that location is a perennial issue.”
