Analysts Give Validus A ‘Buy’ Rating

Bermuda’s Validus Holdings was upgraded by equities research analysts at Stifel Nicolaus to a “buy” rating in a research note issued to investors today [Dec.9]. The analysts currently have a $38.00 price target on the stock.

Separately, analysts at Zacks Investment Research upgraded shares of Validus Holdings from an “underperform” rating to a “neutral” rating in a research note to investors on November 22.

Validus Holdings, Ltd. provides reinsurance coverage in the property, marine and specialty lines markets. The company conducts its operations worldwide through two wholly owned Bermuda subsidiaries, Validus Reinsurance, Ltd. and Talbot Holdings Ltd.

The company, through its subsidiaries, provides reinsurance coverage in the property, marine and specialty lines markets. Validus Re, the company’s principal reinsurance operating subsidiary, operates as a Hamilton-based provider of short-tail reinsurance products on a global basis. Talbot is the Bermuda parent of a specialty insurance group primarily operating within the Lloyd’s of London insurance market.

In September 2009, the company completed the acquisition of IPC Holdings, Ltd.
