Herbert Action-Comedy Playing In Bermuda

March 27, 2012

It’s a case of Spy Versus Spy for Bermudian actor Daren Herbert who is featured in the new Reese Witherspoon action-comedy “This Means War”, the comic tale of two top CIA operatives who wage an epic battle against one another after they discover they are dating the same woman.

Playing this week at the Liberty Theatre, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy co-star as the Central Intelligence Agency operatives — and best friends — who use the same espionage trade craft against one another they normally employ against enemies in the field when they discover they are embroiled in a love triangle.

Mr. Herbert — who has appeared in such movies as the Oscar-winning “Dream Girls” and hit TV shows including “Fringe” — plays the major supporting role of Agent Bothwick in the film which also features comedienne and talk show host Chelsea Handler.

“It is a James Bondish comedy action film,” former Warwick Academy student Mr. Herbert said recently. “We shot it last winter. I have seen a pre-cut and I show up more frequently than I expected. Sometimes you do work and it is in the cut on the DVD in special features.”

Mr. Herbert, 34, and his wife — former Miss Bermuda Joanne Darrell Herbert – are based in Vancouver, British Columbia where he recently received rave reviews for his performance in the play “Intimate Apparel.”
