Sullivan Phillips Leads Prievidza To Victory

Sullivan Phillips had 25 points to lead his Slovakian team’s Play-Off Semi-Final 73 – 59 victory against Nitra.

Eurobasket reports, “Prievidza surged ahead in the semifinal series against Nitra. Nitra was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game.

“Prievidza made 19-of-24 charity shots [79.2%] during the game. They also forced 20 Nitra turnovers and had a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Nitra was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch.

“It was a good game for Bermuda’s swingman Sullivan Phillips who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 7 rebounds. American guard David Godbold contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners.”

The 6ft 6″ Bermudian has played in England, Hungary, Czech Republic and Cyprus and has been twice been named as defensive player of the year in both Hungary and Cyprus. He signed with the Slovakian team last month.
