Michael Belfatti Joins Endurance As Chief Actuary
Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd., a Bermuda-based specialty provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, today [June 19] announced that Michael Belfatti will join Endurance as Chief Actuary with responsibility for overseeing Endurance’s global pricing and reserving activities. He will be based in Endurance’s Bermuda office and report to Chief Executive Officer, David Cash. Mr. Belfatti’s appointment is subject to approval by the Bermuda Department of Immigration.
David Cash commented, “We are very pleased that Michael is joining Endurance as our Chief Actuary. Michael is a talented actuary with significant experience in the specialty insurance and reinsurance lines and as a senior consultant to the insurance industry and we are confident that he will be a great addition to our company and team.”
Mr. Belfatti’s recent experience includes serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Actuary for Validus Holdings, Ltd., Senior Consultant and Head of the Actuarial practice for the Philadelphia office of Tillinghast and Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary at ACE Financial Solutions.
Mr. Belfatti holds a B.A. in Mathematics and Political Science from Swarthmore College and a M.E. in Financial Engineering from Princeton University. Mr. Belfatti is a fellow in the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and the CAS Committee on Valuation, Finance and Investments. He has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has authored a number of articles on actuarial and risk management topics.
