Football: Under 12 Girls Advance To Disney Finals
Bermuda’s Brazilian Football School [BBFS] had four teams reach the semifinals of the Disney Cup, with the U12 girls advancing to the coveted Disney Cup Final scheduled for this morning [July 21].
A BBFS spokesperson said: “The U12 girls showed great determination as they overcame Lakeland after being 2-0 down at the half and falling behind 3-1 with 10 minutes of play remaining.
“The players regrouped and saw Leilanni Nesbeth, Jade Stewart and Naziah Webb score to take BBFS to our first ever cup final (first ever competitive competition both locally and overseas).

BBFS placed third in the U9 boys, U12 Boys and U14 girls division. Each teams received 3rd place medals, a 3rd place trophy and were called out individually onto the red carpet to collect their medals. Bermuda’s name was announced on three separate occasions, showcasing the talent pool locally at the youth level.
The U9 boys, BBFS went down 3-1 to a talented team from Venezuela. The BBFS U9s performed under the leadership of coach Jermaine “Speedy” Smith during the past five days.
The U12 boys narrowly missed out on reaching their age group final, losing 1-0 to the RIVELLINO Academy from Brazil. Both teams played the ball on the carpet and showed great technical ability. The U12′s led by BBFS President Dennis Brown.
The U14 girls went down 3-0 to OSCEOLA UNITED 97 MAKOS Florida 97 after falling behind 2-0 inside of 10 minutes. BBFS regrouped but could not convert on three breakaways to come back into the match. Lakeland, scored their final goal with 5 minutes to go.
The BBFS U14′s led by CEO Blankendal and assisted by Jenay Edness improved in each of their four matches.
