National Gallery Opera Night With Laura Aikin

The Bermuda National Gallery [BNG] will be presenting what they called a “world-class event equivalent to one found in Paris or New York” right here on home soil. The Art of Music Series – Opera Night featuring Laura Aikin, American Soprano Opera singer with Oliver Grant on piano will be held on Saturday [Oct 20] from 7-10 pm.

A spokesperson said, “Celebrating the 20th anniversary year of the BNG, we are collaborating with Bacardi to host a casual and relaxed night of Opera with world renowned American soprano, Laura Aikin who just created the role of Marilyn in the premiere performance of Waiting for Miss Monroe in Amsterdam.

“Laura is also the former student of Bermudian Dr. Gary Burgess when he was Professor and Director of the Opera Department of the State University at Buffalo, New York.”

This concert will be held en plen air in front of Bacardi on Saturday, October 20th from 7-10 pm.Tickets are being sold at three levels including Patron: $1,000, Fellow: $500 and Friend: $100.

Patrons will have special seating, VIP parking and a special reception to meet with Ms Akin. All guests will be treated to a variety of desserts as well as premium spirits.
