17-Year-Old In ICU After Car/Motorcycle Accident

At around 5.20pm yesterday [Jan 2] there was a collision involving a motorcycle and a car on Middle Road in Smith’s, which left a 17-year-old in the Intensive Care Unit.

A police spokesperson said: “Around 5:20pm on Wednesday, January 2nd police and first responders attended a reported serious two vehicle collision on Middle Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Verdmont Road. It appears that an auxiliary cycle and a car were traveling along Middle Road when the vehicles collided.

The auxiliary cycle rider, a 17 year old Pembroke male, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check the victim was in the Intensive Care Unit in stable condition. There were no other injuries reported.

Both vehicles received extensive front end damage. There were some traffic delays in the area while collision investigators examined the scene. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing.

    As someone that has made many stupid decisions in my earlier years that caused me many serious injuries, pain and time spent in hospitals I wish you a speedy recovery. I’m not suggesting that he did anything wrong here as I don’t know (I wasn’t there) . Im just saying that I know what pain, physio and long revory is like – so I understand what he is going through.
