Football Clubs “Keeping Tabs” On Nahki Wells

January 10, 2013

A “host of clubs are keeping tabs” on Nahki Wells with the likes of Leeds, Huddersfield and Wolves all said to have an interest in the Bermudian striker, the UK’s Sky Sports reports.

“Wells has been one of Bradford’s stand-out performers in their sensational Capital One Cup run this season and he scored in Tuesday’s semi-final win over Aston Villa,” reported Sky Sports.

“The 22-year-old’s performances against Arsenal and Villa have alerted clubs higher up the football pyramid with the likes of Leeds, Huddersfield and Wolves all credited with an interest in the forward.”

Wells thrilled Bradford fans and Bermudians alike when he opened the scoring for Bradford in the 19th minute in their match against Premier side Aston Villa two days ago.

Bradford defeated Aston Villa 3-1, and will now travel to Villa Park on 22 January for the second leg of the Capital One Cup Semi-Final. Wells, a former Dandy Town player, is Bradford’s leading scorer and continues to impress as the season progresses.

Numerous people have stated they think he will attract interest from the higher ranked English football clubs, including Nottingham Forest striker Billy Sharp who tweeted he thinks Wells will “get a move this window.”

I’m a huge bradford fan, can’t believe how far we’ve gone in this competition beating of the likes of arsenal, wigan and hopefully villa. I’ve loved nahki ever since I saw him on his debut 3 yrs ago, he just brings something different to our league that I don’t want to see and I hope he stays with us. This is his first season of a new 3 year deal which id love to see him play out but if he wants to go I’d like him to stay until at least the end of the season
