Photos/Results: Weekend Field Hockey Games

The hockey league saw action up at the National Sports Centre throughout the past weekend with both the men’s and women’s divisions taking to the pitch.

Women’s Division: Budgies One 6 Budgies Two 0

The Budgies two teams took to the field for battle with the number one team coming out on top 6-0. Francesca Cacace put the Budgies in the lead in the 10th minute scoring from a penalty corner. Two minutes later Tse Minors doubled the lead with a field goal.

Brittany Faries gave the Budgies One team a 3-0 lead scoring a 31st minute field goal and then two minutes later Jennifer Beech scored from a penalty corner. Amy Fox made it 5 – 0 in the 51st scoring a field goal and then Alex Francis closed out the scoring with a field goal in the 68th minute.

Women’s Division: Wildcats 1 Ravens 2

Alecia Holder gave the Wildcats the lead in the 23rd minute scoring a field goal, but Emma Simmons drew the Ravens level in the 31st minute when she scored a field goal and then Ana Abend scored for the Ravens in the 60th minute. Her field goal proved to be the winner.

Women’s Division: Cardinals 0 Bluebirds 4

Jill Finnigan put the Bluebirds ahead of the Cardinals in the 2nd minute scoring a field goal. Finnigan doubled the lead in the 31st minute once again scoring a field goal. Laura Bardgett then put the Bluebirds ahead 3 – 0 in the 49th minute with a field goal and Nikki Murray-Mason closed out the scoring in the 52nd minute scoring from a field goal.

Men’s Division: Upstarts 2 Polecats 6

The Polecats got two goals from both Shannon Simons and Nigel Dean in their 6 – 2 win over the Upstarts. Andrew Brouwer and Byron Rencken both added a goal each while John Thompson and John Richmond scored for the Upstarts.
