Bermuda’s Youth Got Talent Winners Announced

May 29, 2013

West Pembroke School Pride are the Grand Prize winners of this year’s Bermuda Youth Got Talent, taking home $5,000 and an iPad 2.

In March, more than 170 brave young contestants, signed up to perform their talents in front of three of the islands most well known entertainers — Steve Easton, Powergirl and Nadanja Bailey — as the second season of Bermuda’s Youth Got Talent got underway.

Grand Prize winners WPS Pride:

Twenty-three diverse acts were chosen to repeat their performances in front of a live audience during round two of the audition process. This was the contestant’s last opportunity to bring their A-game and “wow” the judges as well as the public with their talent.

On May 2013, a live telethon/talent show showcased the island’s best and brightest young performers with “Bermuda’s Youth Got Talent” unveiling its top 20 acts. People were asked to phone in, text or go online to place their vote for their favourite performer or performers.

The top 20 contestants made their last attempt to solicit votes for themselves — or their group — as they marched, danced and sang during the May 24th parade. A total of 2302 votes were cast by the public.

“Offering Bermuda’s young people a platform to showcase their talents has been a true pleasure and we have had an international response,” said the Coalition For the Protection Of Children, organisers of the annual event. “The programme has brought awareness to the Coalition for the important work they do, given our young people access to an international stage and uplifted the community.”
