Man Charged: Sex Assault While Holding Knife

A 34-year-old man — who cannot be named for legal reasons — appeared in Magistrates Court this morning [July 3] charged with sexual assault whilst possessing a knife, unlawfully depriving the victim of her liberty and unlawfully wounding a person while in an increased penalty zone. The incident was alleged to have occurred on July 1st by Warwick Long Bay. The defendant, who did not have to enter a plea as the matter can only be heard in the Supreme Court, was remanded in custody.
