When will they that oppose in-port / on-board casinos to open at certain hour accept that this will now encourage other ships to want to visit Bermuda?
There maybe a smaller vessel that can now enter St. Georges Port, opening up a few new industries in the, “Ole Towne”/ surroundings Here is an opportunity for many to get work this winter fixing the the area up by making it more attractive and possibly having many dressed in 17th century garb etc, employed as tour guilds for the visitors when the season re-starts…There’s much to see and learn about in St. Georges. Maybe study the, “Ole Gun Powder Tavern” and consider opening it to the public,(we don’t need loud music to disrupt the construction of the place)we can have walking guilds showing it and telling the history tales etc. Greeting visitors at the gates…
Yes now is the time to get the construction at the hotel and golf course hopping…It’s a new thing in an old place ready and waiting for investors.

‘History will absolve me’ famous words voiced by Cuban leader Fidel Castro during his trial in his struggle against the Batista regime before the success of the Cuban revolution. It is a statement well suited to former PLP premier Browne in his effort to pass the very same casino bill which would have allowed on board gambling on cruise ships while in port. Thwart by the very same OBA government while they were in
opposition. They can not deny their foolishness and the result of thier action as cruise ship after cruise ship cancel their Bermuda visits. They were also aided by the short sightness of some in the PLP government who sort to punish their own premier. Now all are scambling to put in place the very same gambling bill in a desperate to recover ground in the cruise ship business which by the way the now OBA government while it was the political opposition often voice the opinion that the Bermuda’s cruise ship business was of no value. The muncipalities fuel tax is in my opinion is a steath way to raise taxes in Bermuda by the OBA government. The question of government tax revenue is the elephant in the room. Bermuda’s fiscal problems can largely place at the door of long over due tax reforms which goes beyond what the OBA government Trojan Horse which comes in the form of the Sage commision which will serve as cover for OBA policies which aim is to make the ordinary Bermudian bear the burden of it’so-called shared sacrifice and lower the standard of living for Bermudians; a process which already has begun.
