  2. Former Union Member says:

The younger rider was speeding and on the wrong side of the road. I hope the real victim lives.

    • Unbelievable says:

Ok so if the younger rider was riding on the main road and the older person pulled out how can it be the younger persons fault if he is on the main road, even if he was speeding the bike pulled out in his path.

      • Familiar says:

If he was in the wrong lane.

      • Soooooooo says:

Not 100% true, if driver pulling out did so with reasonable care and the younger rider was driving at a speed and in a manner that was dangerous for the road conditions. Then the driver on the main road can be at fault.

    • What? says:

You wouldn’t be able to tell which lane he was in. If the two bike hit hard enough. They would’ve spun. So changing their direction

    • ACE BOY... says:

Yo bredren your comment is cruel and uncalled for, regardless of who is at fault!!!

    • classless says:

F*** you, you classless a**hole. I hope Karma bites you twice as hard as the b**** she is!

    • Trish Dill says:

That is just so cold and uncalled for!

    • Really?? says:

How do you know? Where you there to witness the accident? *raised eyebrow*

  3. Red Hind says:

A daily occurrence in Bermuda these days. Something tells me that somebody was seriously exceeding the speed limit

  4. S.M.H. says:

Everybody always in a hurry going nowhere. Ppl think it can’t happen to them and they invisible. I hope it wasn’t speed that caused it. I’m praying for both ppl a speedy recovery.

  5. Truth is killin' me... says:

Cops should be on this stretch of road daily at 5.00pm! W&E workers knock off at 5 and com flying along Harbor Road like maniacs. I’m not surprised this happened sooner or later. I hope the tourist bike rider is ok!!

    • Concerned Citizen says:

Tourist bike rider is ok? Wtf? Smh! How about both riders being ok. Some of you folk need to pack up and leave Bermuda! I don’t care if you are local or from abroad! This is the 2nd time this week that I’ve read bs like what the idiot above spews! Truth is killing you my a**

    • Really?? says:

Truth is Killin Me….you need to read the story correctly before you post comments. It clearly states the rental was ridden by a 52 yr old male CONTRACT WORKER and NOT a tourist. Tourist aren’t the only ones that ride rentals!!! That’s how rumours start….Read correctly before posting comments!!!

      • Truth is killin' me... says:

@Really?? At what point did I say this was a tourist a**. Tourist bike rider…correct??

  6. downderoad says:

SOMEBODY was speeding because those bike are some distance from Morgan road. Regardless of who was at fault, the speed of one of those bikes CAUSED the severity of the accident. If excessive speed wasn’t involved, Bernews would just be reporting on some road rash!

  7. Had everyone lost their mind?? says:

Am I really reading that people are hoping only one of the riders is okay, ie. the one who was or was not speeding. Yes, we’ve lost it as a society if that’s our reaction. Who amongst us has never made a bad decision, a bad judgement call or has not done something just plain stupid. Hands up!! But for the grace of God… I hope both riders pull through. In Jesus name. Amen.

  8. swing voter says:

I’ve been riding these roads for 34yrs without a major incident. I can tell you its easier to avoid a collision if both vehicles are being driven at or below 30mph. Even If there is a collision, the impact will likely result in minor injury.

  9. Ya got me Rollin says:

@Concerned Citizen . You have obviously just started to read these blogs. It’s the same people that spew the same sort of things Truth is killin’ me… says on a regular basis but they will not leave. All you need to do is mention contract worker and sit back and watch them all slither out their hole.

    • Really?? says:

At “Ya got me Rollin”…I hv to agree with you honey. It’s amazing how a lot of these expats (mainly the ones from the UK or Canada) would sit on here and post inappropriate things. Furthermore, why aren’t they working? Is this what they get paid to do during normal working hours? Sit up on bernews.com and post negative comments about ppl? Some of them have nothing good to say about this Island and the people, they grumble about everything, and are an outright royal pain in the a**! They’re just here to make money and in the midst of it, tear people apart. One day one of them will come up against the wrong person and is going to get a serious reach back. If you don’t like Bermuda but are only here to use the Island to make money, I suggest y’all pack your bags and get the hell out of this Island. We don’t need ppl like you here!!! Take your a** and leave!!! Leave tomorrow!!! *straight up and real talk*

  10. Hurricane says:

@Trust is killin’ me I sure hope that didn’t come out right. Pretty ridiculous if it did

  11. Vyshus Vybes says:

Truly some people need to find a hobby other than wishing the demise of other people. Its truly a reflection on what they think of themselves. Spend more time looking in the mirror and less time looking out the window. Both gentleman have loved ones, friends, and family who I am sure are not appreciative of your insensitivity in this incident. Myself most definitely included. Just because you have the freedom of speech. Also try to find the freedom of decorum and humanity and show it towards yourself and in turn it will be easier to show it toward someone else.

Our prayer are with you DM from BRB and family and friends

    • Beyond2 says:

Well said VV. and I too wish for the speedy recovery of both persons involved prayers to them and their famiy, friends and loved ones.

  12. Toodle-oo says:

God , I swear that this island is filled with people who have rocks for brains .

The roads are filled with out of control, lawless little terrorists who intentionally take great delight in trying to spook/annoy people . I see it every day . Just yesterday three guys went past me at high speed (like 90k). The first came out of nowhere and passed completely over in the other lane. The second deliberately went so close to me that his jacket touched my bike’s offside mirror. The third passed me on the inside . All on a long , straight piece of road where there wasn’t another vehicle around. What would have been the outcome if I had flinched after the first rider ?

When , through their own ignorance, they get involved with an innocent law abiding bystander we’re all supposed to cry , feel sorry for them and wish them a speedy recovery ? ?

Sorry , but the sooner they meet a telephone pole or wall at high speed the better . And I wont be shedding any tears for them.

Oh , and I AM a Bermudian … for a long, long time , so take your prejudicial expat ignorance and shove it .

  13. Ya got me Rollin says:

@ classless and Really??-All one need do is go to the archives and type Margaret Thatcher(when she passed) . They exposed themselves , tearing each other apart the way they verbally tear Bermuda and Bermudians to shreds daily.

They have nothing positive to add to anything that is Bermudian. They inspire no one and obvious lead miserable lives, if they only contribution in life is to come on here and spew their hate. I guarantee you would be hard pressed to find anyone under the age of 25 who knows them to say they are an inspiration.

And guess what they were chewing each other to bits about……???? How Maggie busted their beloved unions. Yep, go figure. Shocking isn’t it? The very same people see anything printed about the BIU or Chris Furbert and go into a feeding frenzy of hate. That’s how I know their expats. SAAVY!!!

  14. David says:

It is with great regret to inform you all that my brother has passed away due to this accident…he was the 52 year old driver :o ( I live in the US and would like to know any helpful information anyone can provide. Thank you and God Bless !!
