Football Results: Corona, Premier, First Division

A number of football games took place across the island this weekend with footballers in the Premier Division, First Division and Corona League all seeing action.

Premier Division: Devonshire Cougars 3 – Dandy Town Hornets 3

For the second Friday in a row the Devonshire Cougars scored in injury time to earn a point. Drewonde Bascome gave the Devonshire Cougars the lead in the 7th minute when he converted from the penalty spot, Jah-Quille Stowe equalized for the Dandy Town Hornets in the 50th minute as they scored three goals in seven minutes.

The Dandy Town Hornets took the lead in the 52nd minute when Zaire Burchall scored. Five minutes later Damon Ming scored for the Dandy Town Hornets to make the score 3 – 1 to the League Leaders, however the defending League Champions substitute Mark Steede pulled the Devonshire Cougars within one when he scored in the 88th minute and then Bascome scored his second goal of the game in injury time to earn the Devonshire Cougars the 3 – 3 draw.

Premier Division: Somerset Trojans 1 – Southampton Rangers 0

At the Somerset Cricket Club, a lone first half penalty strike from Kirk Brown earned the Somerset Trojans a 1 – 0 win over visiting Southampton Rangers.

Premier Division: Flanagan’s Onions 5 – St. David’s 0

At the BAA Field, Peter Robey gave the Flanagan’s Onion’s a 1 – 0 lead over St. David’s, the next goal in the game was an own goal as Flanagan’s took a 2 – 0 lead. Robey scored his second goal of the game in the 61st minute to make it 3 – 0, before Ryan Overend scored for the Flanagan’s Onion’s making it 4 – 0 after 80 minutes and then Keston Lewis added the final goal of the game to give the Flanagan’s Onion’s a 5 – 0 win over St. David’s.

Premier Division: North Village Rams 4 – Wolves 1

A first half hat-trick from Keishen Bean earned the North Village Rams a 3 – 0 lead and Bean the leading goalscorer mark at the midway point of the season. Bean scored League goals 8, 9 and 10 within a ten minute period in the first half, Troy Tucker pulled goal back for Wolves only to have Pierre Smith restore the North Village Rams three goal lead as they earned a 4 – 1 win.

Premier Division: PHC Zebras 3 – Hamilton Parish 1

Ijahmon Mallory headed Hamilton Parish into the lead in the 57th minute against the PHC Zebras at the Southampton Oval. Cecoy Robinson drew the PHC Zebras level in the 80th minute and then two minutes later Shakir Smith scored form the penalty spot to give the PHC Zebras a 2 – 1 lead, Robinson ended the game as a contest as he scored his second goal of the game in injury time to earn the PHC Zebras a 3 – 1.

First Division: Robin Hood 3 – Ireland Rangers 1

After a scoreless First half at the BAA Field, Gary Adams gave Robin Hood the lead in the 48th minute, Jason Simons doubled the lead in the 59th minute and when Joshua Crockwell scored for Robin Hood in the 65th minute it made the score 3 – 0, Daunte Woods pulled a goal back for Ireland Rangers in the 79th minute but they could not get a closer as Robin Hood moved to the top of the First Division standings.

First Division: Young Men Social Club 2 – BAA 4

At the Bernard Park, BAA came from behind to record a 4 – 2 win over Young Men Social Club. Tajae Williams gave the home team Social Club the lead in the 7th minute, Nya Rawlins doubled the lead in the 21st minute, but one minute later BAA pulled a goal back when Joshua DeSilva found the back of the net. Jaylon Bather equalized for BAA in the 53rd minute, he then put BAA ahead in the 81st minute with a left footed shot from close range. Aaron O’Connor had a looping header that eluded the Social Club goalkeeper to extend the lead to 4 – 2 for the visitors.

First Division: Devonshire Colts 1 – St. George’s Colts 0

After a scoreless first half at the Police Field, Lozendro Symonds scored in the 82nd minute to earn the Devonshire Colts a 1 – 0 over the St. George’s Colts.

First Division: Paget Lions 1 – X’Road’s 4

Visiting X’Road’s took the lead in the 37th minute at the Southampton Oval when captain Dennis Musson Jr. scored, Danzil Smith equalized for the Paget Lions two minutes later. Yusaff Pitt gave X’Road’s the lead in the 52nd minute, before Tristan Daniels scored for X’Road’s to make it 3 – 1 in the 81st minute and then two minutes later Rico Beek made it 4 – 1 to the visitors.

First Division: Somerset Eagles 2 – Boulevard Blazers 0

At the White Hill Field, Kanhai Fray gave the Somerset Eagles a 1 – 0 lead in the 6th minute, Marcus Simmons doubled the lead in the 56th minute as the Somerset Eagles recorded a 2 – 0 win over the Boulevard Blazers

Corona League: West End United 2 – Lock N Key 1

In the first Corona League game of the weekend, Henry Santucci scored twice for West End United in their 2 – 1 win over Lock N Key, Chris Furbert scored the lone goal for Lock N Key.

Corona League: North Village Rams 6 – Vasco 2

Aljame Zuill found the back of the net 4 times in helping the North Village Rams secure a 6 – 2 win over Vasco. Matthew Madeiros and Torry Davis added a goal each.
