Police Investigating 48 Year Old Woman’s Death
[Updated: 47 year old man in police custody]
The sudden death of a 48-year-old Southampton woman early this morning [Aug 27] is currently under investigation by police, with the possibility of foul play not ruled out.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 12.10am on Wednesday, August 27, first responders were dispatched to a report of an unresponsive female at an Atlantic View, Southampton residence.
“On arrival, EMTs performed CPR on the 48-year-old Southampton woman at the scene and rushed her to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, where she was later pronounced dead by an on-call doctor.
“An investigation into the circumstances of this sudden death is ongoing and foul play has not been ruled out.”
Update 4.17pm: A police spokesperson said, “The investigation into the sudden death of a 48 year old Southampton woman early this morning continues. An autopsy will be carried out in due course by a forensic pathologist and a 47 year old Southampton man is currently in police custody assisting with relevant inquiries.”
