Dandy Town Win Dudley Eve Football Final

The 2014/15 Dudley Eve Final saw Somerset Trojans take on the Dandy Town Hornets at the National Sports Centre yesterday [Nov 11], with the Dandy Town Hornets recording a 3-0 victory.

Somerset Trojans Starting Line-Up: Shaquille Bean, Trevin Ming, Dane Benjamin, Dennis Lister, Jensen Rogers, Sean Brangman, Trae Harvey, Leo Burgess, Zahkie Iris, Vashun Blanchette, Damon Swan

Substitutes: Tahj Wade, Karl Brown, Adolphus Lambert, Cofield Robinson, Marcus Simmons, Russ Ford, Makai Joell, Kirt Brown, Antoine Seaman.

Dandy Town Hornets Starting Line-Up: Ajai Daniels, Brandon Minors, Jah-Quille Stowe, K’Wonde Lathan, Damon Ming, Ayshuan Smith, Angelo Simmons, Azende Furbert, Tomiko Goater, Kevin Hurdle, Jahmel Swan

The game started off with the Dandy Town Hornets’ Ayshuan Smith making a 20 yard blistering shot , which was tipped onto the crossbar by Shaquille Bean in goal for the Somerset Trojans.

Two minutes later Bean used his legs to deny Damon Ming from giving the Dandy Town Hornets the lead. Both teams struggled to get anything going for the remainder of the half, as they went to the break locked at 0 – 0.

In the second half, Kevin Hurdle gave the Dandy Town Hornets the lead when he scored from close range, Tomiko Goater doubled the Dandy Town Hornets lead with a thunderous shot from some 18 yards out.

In injury time, Dandy Town Hornets substitute Jahnazae Swan scored to give the Dandy Town Hornets a 3 – 0 lead, and with no further goals the Dandy Town Hornets became the 2014/15 Dudley Eve Champions.

Unfortunately for the fans and players who were just trying to enjoy a game of football, the celebration was marred by a firearm incident outside the venue, which was followed by another shooting in Somerset.
