Kings of Construction To Be Held On Nov. 7th

November 6, 2014

Brute strength and fierce competition will be the order of the night starting at 7.30pm on Friday [Nov 7] when the annual Kings of Construction event, hosted by the Construction Association of Bermuda takes place on Front Street, next to Docksider’s Pub.

“We’re very excited to have this new venue,” states CAOB Chair, Charles Dunstan, “We expect a great turn-out and the whole family to have tons of fun, all for an excellent cause!”

A spokesperson said, “An intense rivalry will take place among six teams of five. Teams will race against the clock and each other to see who can fill 50 gallon drums with sand, carry and stack concrete blocks, and even pull a truck!”

A look back at the 2012 Kings of Construction event

“The Bermuda Regiment will be working hard to defend their crown but they have some formidable challengers – BAC: Men in Blue; Bermuda Regiment: Team 1 and Team 2; Construction All Stars, Fire Services and Police.

“The block party will be rocking on through the night with Vibe 103 live at Docksiders throughout the evening. The Go Down Berries will perform live after the competition [around 10:00 p.m.]. Docksiders and Rosa’s Cantina will have drink and dinner specials.

“There will be Street Food and Street Vendors including Ashley’s Lemonade and Portuguese Doughnuts from Stella Maris. Kids can have their photo taken on some heavy construction equipment and take a ride in the high lift provided by Just Roofs Plus. And the best part – admission is free.

“The events proceeds all go to a very worthy cause. Each year the Construction Association of Bermuda donates all proceeds to their scholarship fund developed for students pursuing careers in the construction industry.”
