Motorcyclist Injured In Southampton Accident
[Updated] Emergency services responded to a collision involving a motorcycle at approximately 7pm tonight [Nov 1] in the Middle Road Southampton area.
Police and Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service personnel cordoned off the scene and tended to the injured rider, diverting traffic away from the area until an attending ambulance transported the rider to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The road remained closed while police traffic collision investigators processed the accident scene. Details are limited at this time, however we will update as able.
Update 1.23pm, Nov 2: A police spokesperson said, “Around 7:10pm on Saturday, November 1st first responders were dispatched to a reported serious single vehicle motorcycle collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Lighthouse Road.
“Details remain unclear at this time; however the injured motorcyclist, a 23 year old Smith’s parish man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check he was in the Intensive Care Unit.
“Traffic was diverted away from the area while collision investigators examined the scene.
“Inquiries regarding this collision are ongoing and any witnesses that have not yet come forward should contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
