Hart Charged With Murder [Charges Dropped]

December 16, 2014

[Updated: Charges dropped] Dion Hart was remanded in custody after being charged with the murder of Prince Edness in Magistrates Court this morning [Dec 16].

Hart, a Pembroke resident, was charged with five offences including the murder of Prince Edness, using a firearm to commit the offence, using a firearm during flight and possessing a firearm and ammunition. The charges alleged that Hart was concerned with another person who was not yet before the Court.

The court room was packed, with members of the public and a number of police officers present, and the defendant remained silent throughout the proceedings.

The defendant did not have to enter a plea, and he was remanded into custody by Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo.

On December 7th, police responded to a shooting that took place in Southampton, which saw 29 year old Prince Edness fatally shot, and the suspect[s] fire at a police officer who was chasing them.

Update: Three days after these charges were laid, they were dropped. Details here.

    • Tired says:

The BPS have been working fast on all murders. They are constantly finding ways to solve crime. People are getting tired and they are talking and assisting the Police. I am glad because all our young black males are dying! We need to get the guns off the street.

That has nothing to do with the BPS.

The BPS business is gathering enough evidence to make a good arrest, beyond that it’s up to the justice department and the jury to prove whether or not an alleged perpetrator is guilty or not.

      • hmmm says:
