March 1st: SPCA ‘Paws To The Park’ To Be Held

February 9, 2015

Join the Bermuda SPCA for Paws to the Park, a fun-filled community event for people and their dogs on Sunday, March 1st.

A spokesperson said, “The event kicks off with the one or three mile Dog Walk starting at St. Paul’s Church in Paget, where hundreds walk to raise funds to save the lives of homeless dogs, cats and other animals.

“This year, the SPCA is counting on your help to reach our goal of raising $10,000! The registration fee is $35 per person [14yrs and older] and the SPCA asks [but does not require] that all participants raise at least $50 in pledges. Fundraising can be done as an individual or as part of a team.”

Your fundraising efforts will be rewarded! The first 100 people to register will receive a free Tote Bag. In addition, incentives will be awarded individually to each person who raises the qualifying amount of funds, whether they are on a team or not. Register today and find full event details at spca.bm.

“Following the Dog Walk, fun activities for animal lovers take over St. Paul’s field! Don’t miss the vendor booths, Wetnose Photobooth, raffle prizes, and a dog wash. All are welcome to join the fun—with or without a furry pal! This event is sponsored by ACE and in part by Zurich.

“At the core of the Bermuda SPCA’s mission is to: provide effective, lawful means for the prevention of cruelty to animals; promote the education of the general public on the care and wellbeing of all animals; and encourage and promote kindness to animals. The SPCA couples this mission with innovative programs strengthening the human-animal bond and controlling the unwanted pet population.

“The Bermuda Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals [SPCA] was founded in 1919 and is a Registered Bermuda Charity: No. 86. We speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. For more information on the Shelter’s services and programs please visit spca.bm.”
