April 10, 2015

The Bermuda Football Association [BFA]‘s Appleby Youth Knock Out Cup will soon come to a close, with the Under 14 and Under 16 finals to take place tomorrow [Apr 11].

The U14 match will be played first, with the Richmond Harriers and the Devonshire Colts clashing at 1.00pm, while PHC and BAA will meet at 3.00pm to decide the U16 winner; both matches will be played at the Northern Field at National Sports Centre.

Enrique Wilkins, Devonshire Colts coach, commented on the importance of youth in their club, saying, “Investment in youth has shown in the senior team, with them being promoted to the Premier Division. This is also reflected in our youth program, which has helped us reach the knock out cup final.”

BAA finished the season as Under 16 league champions, with PHC finishing as runners-up. Winston Trott, PHC coach, said, “The team has worked hard all year, and is now being rewarded by making the finals of the Knock Out Cup.”

A spokesperson for the BFA said, “The BFA wishes to thank Appleby for their continued belief in, and support of, youth football in Bermuda.”
