Fire Service Respond To Brush Fire At Dump
[Updated with photos] At around 4am today [July 15] Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service [BFRS] responded to a report of a confirmed Brush Fire at the Marsh Folly Horticultural Waste Depot.
“We responded to the incident with appliances from our Hamilton Station and our Eastern Volunteers Division with a total of 9 appliances and 16 personnel,” said BFRS spokesperson Acting Lieutenant Jamal Albuoy.
“On our arrival, an area of horticultural waste measuring approximately 50 feet by 50 feet was involved with fire. At 4:11 am, Firefighters managed to knock down the bulk of the fire manned with multiple hoselines.
“With the assistance from Works & Engineering, Fire crews are currently securing the scene by wetting down surrounding areas”.
