Football: Premier, First Division Weekend Results

Young Men’s Social Club, Somerset Eagles, Southampton Rangers, Somerset Trojans, Devonshire Colts all walked away with wins in this weekend’s Premier Division and First Division action.

First Division: Paget Lions 2 – Wolves 2

At the Southampton Oval, Paget let a two goal half time lead slip as they drew 2 – 2 with Wolves. Kenneth Durrant and Devon Dill would give Paget the 2 – 0 lead, but Steven Bremar and Sergio Richardson would score second half goals for Wolves.

First Division: Young Men Social Club 4 – X-Road’s 1

At the PHC Stadium, Young Men Social Club got their season off to a flying start with this 4 – 1 win over X-Road’s. Clay Darrell led the way with two goals for Young Men Social Club, while Saki Tuzo and Robert Rawlings added a goal each, the lone goal for X-Road’s was scored by Rico Beek.

First Division: St. George’s Colts 1 – Flanagan’s Onions 1

At the Wellington Oval, Justin Denbroke gave the St. George’s Colts a 1 – 0 lead, but Flanagan’s Onions would equalize minutes before the end of the match through a Richard Cumbers goal.

First Division: Ireland Rangers 1 – Somerset Eagles 3

At Malabar, Ireland Rangers went in front in the 11th minute when Denzel Crockwell scored, but the score would be level in the 54th minute when Anwar Telford scored for the visiting Somerset Eagles. Khanai Fray would give the visitors the lead in the 79th minute and then two minutes later Nathan Rego would make it 3 – 1 to the Somerset Eagles.

Premier Division: Southampton Rangers 2 – Devonshire Cougars 1

At the Southampton Oval, Southampton Rangers open the 2015/2016 season with a victory of Devonshire Cougars. Eziekeil Stoneham scored a 90th minute bullet to give Rangers a 2-1 win. Lovinz Tota scored for the Devonshire Cougars and an own goal for Southampton Rangers had the game deadlocked at 1 – 1 until Stoneham scored.

Premier Division: PHC Zebras 2 – North Village Rams 2

At the Southampton Oval, Keishen Bean gave the North Village Rams the lead in the 8th minute, only to have Anthony Hunter equalize for the PHC Zebras in the 40th minute as they went to the break even at 1 – 1. Shakir Smith put the home team in front in the 69th minute only to have Bean equalize for the North Village Rams three minutes later as the two teams played to a 2 – 2 draw.

Premier Division: Boulevard Blazers 1 – Somerset Trojans 3

At the Police Field, Leo Burgess gave visiting Somerset Trojans the lead in the 43rd minute when he converted from the penalty spot, but TiaeVince Douglas equalized for the Boulevard Blazers on the stroke of half time making the score at the break 1 – 1. The defending League Champions Somerset Trojans went back in front in the 54th minute when Adolphus Lambert scored and when Jaz Rattery Smith scored four minutes later the visitors came away with the 3 – 1 win.

Premier Division: Hamilton Parish 2 Devonshire Colts 4

At the Wellington Oval, Lozandro Symonds gave the Devonshire Colts the lead in the 25th minute, Kyle Jones doubled the lead in the 38th minute. Three minutes later the Devonshire Colts lead was 3 – 0 as Teniko Eve scored, they took that lead into the break. Hamilton Parish got back into the game when Donovan Thompson scored in the 68th minute, but one minute later Ryan Purnell restored the Devonshire Colts three goal lead when he found the back of the net, Chris Caisey pulled Hamilton Parish within two when he scored in the 72nd minute, but that was to be the last goal of the game as the Devonshire Colts came away with a 4 – 2 victory.
