2015 Harness Pony Racing Season Continues

The Harness Pony Racing Season continued at the National Equestrian Center on Vesey Street. Racing was changed as not to clash with the Sailboat racing on Saturday allowing the Bermuda Sports Media to cover the Harness Racing.

In the Opening Race of the evening Christian Truran in the bike of Inwood’s Progress won the 1:13 & Slower Time Bar race clocking 1:14&1.

Aaron Maderios in the bike of Tee Time won the 1:07&2 to 1:10&3 Time Bar Class clocking 1:10 flat, while Courtney Davis and Ribbons and Pearls have a leg out of the 1:10&4 to 1:12 Flat Class when they clocked 1:10&1.

During the 1:13 & Slower Time Bar Class, Inwood’s Progress with Christian Truran in the bike clocked a winning time of 1:14&1, with Andrea Westerfield in the bike of Reel Patrol was second in 1:14&4 and Double Time with Philip Correia in the bike finished third in 1:15&1.

During the 1:07/2 – 1:10/3 Time Bar Class, Tee Time clocked 1:10 flat.

During the 1:10/4 – 1:12/0 Time Bar Class, Ribbons & Pearls with Courtney Davis in the bike clocked a winning time of 1:10&1, with Candyce Martins in the bike of Shady’s Liberty was second in 1:10&4.

During the 1:06/1 – 1:07/1 Time Bar Class, Reel Ladylike with Dylan DeSilva in the bike clocked a winning time of 1:09 flat, with Colonel’s Maestro was second in 1:10 flat.

    Why are we seeing these races being performed annually at that small track? When will you that compete seek to enlarge that,(or relocate) track to allow the ponies enough room to overtake?
    I’m sure between the public’s input and competitors $ along with the Government, something can / should come to fruition :-(
