Motorcyclist Injured In Two Vehicle Collision

[Updated] A collision between a motorcycle and a police car this morning [Jan 15] sent the motorcycle’s female rider to hospital, with police continuing to investigate the incident.

Police Media Manager Dwayne Caines said, “At around 6.00am, first responders attended a report of a collision that took place on Court Street.

“Early indicators are that a police car and motorcycle collided, which resulted in the female motorcyclist being taken to hospital, where she is being treated for unspecified injuries.

“The scene was processed by the relevant officers and an investigation into the collision is ongoing.”

Update 2.28pm: A Police spokesperson said, “Approximately 6:00am this morning [15-Jan] police and first responders responded to a report of a two vehicle collision which occurred at the junction of Court and Church Street involving a police vehicle and an auxiliary cycle.

“It appears that the police vehicle was travelling east along Church Street and the cycle was headed north on Court Street when the collision occurred. As a result of injuries received, the female cyclist was transported to KEMH where she was treated and released.

“Police are appealing for witnesses to call 295-0011.”
