Photos: BASA’s Best of Best Swimming Meet

The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association hosted the Best of Best Meet and a Development Meet at the BASA Pool, and although the conditions started out unfavourably for the swimmers, things heated up once the competition got underway.

Elan Daley set three records on the day, set a new Girls 10 & Under 200 SC Meter Breaststroke record clocking a winning time of 3:05.48, she then set a new Girls 10 & Under 50 SC Meter Butterfly record touching the wall in a time of 31.48 and then she clocked a time of 5:42.71 on her way to setting a new Girls 10 & Under 400 SC Meter IM record.

Jesse Washington broke the Men 15 & Over 200 SC Meter Butterfly record when he touched the wall in a time of 2:17.04, while Brian Desmond broke the 11-12 Boys 800 SC Meter Freestyle record when he finished with a time of 10:05.91.

Ambya Smith won the Girls 10 & Under 100 SC Meter Freestyle touching the wall in a time of 1:23.57, Adriana Argent was second in 1:27.36 and Ella Connolly finished third with a time of 1:31.03. The Women’s 15 & Over 100 SC Meter Freestyle event was won by Madelyn Moore who recorded a time of 1:00.35, while Megan Lau finished second in 1:03.26 and Eileen Mullowney finished third in 1:03.63.

Shannon Hassell recorded a time of 35.77 on her way to winning the Women’s 15 & Over 50 SC Meter Backstroke, with Lynsey Palmer second in 38.05, the Boys 11-12 100 SC Meter Backstroke was won by Jack Harvey who touched the wall in 1:15.60, Nick Pilgrim finished second clocking 1:18.43 and Max McCrimmon was third in 1:27.54.
