Photos & Video: Girl Guides Thinking Day Service
The Girl Guides Thinking Day Service and Parade was held on Sunday [Feb 21] at the Anglican Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity on Church Street, with the Brownies, Guides and other participants — led by the Somerset Brigade Band — marching from City Hall to take part in the day’s event.
Thinking Day is the day closest to the birthday of Lord Baden-Powell who was the originator of the now worldwide Scouting movement. Guiding started after Lord Baden-Powell’s wife Olave Baden-Powell, initiated a similar movement aimed at girls.
