BBC Suffer Outages Due To Inclement Weather

March 29, 2016

The Bermuda Broadcasting Company said they suffered outages on all their stations this morning [March 29] after the Fort Hill area of Prospect was “saturated with electricity from powerful lightening strikes.”

“Staff at the BBC have worked diligently to restore broadcasting services to the island. The company has already brought its radio stations, Power 95, Inspire 105 and Ocean 89 back online,” the company said.

“The BBC is now working hard to fix its TV channels, CBS 9 and ABC 7. A damage assessment is underway and replacement parts may need to be flown in from overseas before the TV channels can be fully functional.

“The company wishes to thank its listeners and advertisers for their patience while it works to restore remaining services to the country.

“The BBC would also like to take this opportunity to thank local utility companies for helping to restore essential services such as power and communications to Prospect.”

after all these years you still haven’t fixed your grounding to absorb lightening strikes? Instead you choose to expose your equipment to potential damage …..oh I forgot, some dumb insurance company will pink up! same old game BELCO, TELCO, and other utility based operations,

swing voter: of course you are an expert when dealing with lightening strikes. The storm knocked out the BBC, two cable operators, a phone company, a cell company, and many other businesses on the hill in Prospect. But as you said its because the BBC wasn’t grounded properly, right.
