Tucker’s Point Tennis Club had its second Developmental Championships over the weekend, and had another great showing with 66 entries competing over the 2 day competition.

The tournament consisted of 3 divisions, with each division representing a specific stage in tennis development with each age group using equipment designed for their stage in their tennis development.

Rosewood Tucker’s Point Head Tennis Professional Gavin Manders explained, “The 8U division used red balls with a 36 foot court, 10U division used orange balls with a 60ft court, and the 12U used green balls with a regular size court.

.

“It was a weekend full of some great junior tennis, which was brilliant to watch as it shows the sport of tennis is on the rise with so many juniors participating in a U12 tournament.

“Jovan and I have a vision for Bermuda tennis, and with the help of the new BLTA executive, we believe tennis will continue to grow, giving the next generation of youth another positive outlet to put their energy into.

“We had about 250 people come through the club over the weekend, and the environment was contagious with so much fun and laughter around the courts. We look to continue to share our passion for tennis with the next generation, and are very proud of the impact that we are having on the youth.

“Tucker’s Point Tennis Club is dedicated to raising the level of tennis in Bermuda, and we believe that Tucker’s Point is the premiere tennis club on the island for all levels and ages.”
