Event Set To Aid Young Bermudian Tennis Star

August 25, 2016

On Sunday [August 29] there will be a Community Tennis and Pot Luck event held at Admiralty House from 8am to 8pm to honour 11-year-old Bermudian tennis star, Daniel Phillips, as he prepares to leave for the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy in Mallorca, Spain.

In order to give Daniel a proper send off and also raise funds towards his tuition, the whole community is invited to join in for a Fun Day of grass roots tennis, Bermuda fish, music, entertainment and swimming. Children of all ages are welcome and admission is free. Pot Luck meals will be served at $15 per plate.

Having trained his whole life in Bermuda, Daniel views the Academy as a stepping-stone towards fulfilling his dream of becoming a tennis professional,

“This is a very exciting time for me. I am looking forward to training and living in Spain,” he said. “I am very proud to be representing Bermuda at the Rafael Nadal Tennis Academy and I am thankful to all my supporters who have made this journey possible. I look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.”
